Daniel is taking on the tough challenge of running the 2020 London Marathon and has pledged to fundraise for his local Mind; South Kent Mind. Here’s an update on his progress ahead of the big day……
After having 8 stitches in my knee towards the end of January, it put me behind on my training for a good 2 to 3 weeks! I pushed myself back early after healing by doing little but often. Now fast forward to this week I feel like I have caught up and managed my first halve marathon coming in at 2 hours 40 mins and put my daily step count well over the 32k mark! A little slower than I wanted but I managed it. This time last year I wasn’t a seasoned runner, I did the odd 5k twice a week but was never set in stone. I certainly didn’t think I was going to be doing such long distances in so short a time and never did I think I’d ever be able to do it. Here I am running halve marathons after work on a week night!
