The Folkestone Channel Rotary Club’s Annual Marsh Cycle Challenge

The Folkestone Channel Rotary Club has chosen South Kent Mind as recipient to funds raised via their eleventh Annual Marsh Cycle Challenge. They have donated over £20,000 to charity and good causes in the past 12 months and work extremely hard to organise events such as this. Thanks to the Club for choosing to support South Kent Mind on this occasion. We have some info from the Club below…..
The Eleventh Annual Marsh Cycle Challenge takes place this year on 5th July. The Event has been highly successful in the past raising over £60,000 in total for a wide range of charities.

This year we have a further challenge for dedicated cyclists, along with our popular 30 and 55 mile routes we have now added a 70 mile route. All routes are on the Marsh so minimal elevation needs to be tackled. If you need a distance challenge to go further than you have ever gone before then this is an ideal opportunity. Apart from the flat route you will find excellent sign posting and marshalling at key points – no need to keep stopping to refer to maps or signposts. Complimentary refreshments are available at Ivychurch including the famous Channel Rotary homemade flapjacks. The start and finish is at the Star Inn at St Mary in the Marsh. There is ample parking. Entertainment is provided and food will be available for both the cyclist and their supporters.
The chosen Charity this year is South Kent Mind whose purpose is to promote better mental health and wellbeing across South Kent. Exercise is an excellent way to improve not only physical health but also mental wellbeing. The Cycle Challenge therefore is an excellent fit with Mind to both support the organisation but also help all those taking part.
