Creative Folkestone’s Plinth Project

To celebrate the return of street artist Banksy’s Art Buff in Folkestone’s Creative Quarter, Creative Folkestone presents The Plinth.

From Friday 18 September to Sunday 8 November 2020, vacant plinths will be placed around Folkestone. Creative Folkestone are inviting you to get creative and find a plinth to display your artistic creations.

The Plinth

There will be a total of fifteen freestanding plinths placed in locations around Folkestone.

Three of the fifteen plinths will be artist commissions, these artworks will be securely fixed to the plinth. This will leave twelve empty plinths for members of the public to use freely.

South Kent Mind’s Craft Group have been been working with Creative Folkestone to create sculptures to display on the plinths.

Performance plinths have been created in Payers Park that will host a curated programme of activity and they’ll be slots available to book to showcase your creativity. If you’d like to perform on a plinth, click here for further info.
