More than 250 participants took on Channel Rotary Club’s annual triathlon.
The event will support a number of good causes including South Kent Mind and one of the mental health charity’s collaborative partners, Shepway Sports Trust.
Participants took on a gruelling swim in the sea off Folkestone Harbour before running back to the start to pick up their bicycles for a ride across the Downs and then completing a run along the seafront. Some participants opted to just take on two challenges as part of Channel Rotary Club’s strategy to widen participation.
15-year-old James Gill from Sandwich Technology College was the first man over the line, with Amelia Priestley, 16, from Folkestone School for Girls the first woman to the finish.
Matt Morsia, from Hythe, who is internationally famous with his MattDoesFitness video channels on YouTube (2m subscribers) and Instagram (1m subscribers), enthused participants before announcing the start.
South Kent Mind CEO, Simon Dolby, thanked Channel Rotary for agreeing to give a slice of the proceeds to the charity.
