#DoOneThing for World Mental Health Day

South Kent Mind is urging the public to #DoOneThing to support World Mental Health Day on Sunday, 10 October.
The charity is asking supporters to start a conversation with family, friends and work colleagues over the coming days to help raise the profile of mental health and wellbeing.
Simon Dolby, Chief Executive of South Kent Mind, said: “Mental health has been the Cinderella of health issues for too long. Those struggling face inequalities just as powerful as race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, age and class.
“It is time to add your voice to raise the profile of mental health issues. #DoOneThing and help us raise the profile of this vital issue.”
The campaign will continue over the coming weeks with the Kent Mental Health & Wellbeing Awards staged at the end of October. The event will see 33 winning individuals, organisations and initiatives celebrated for their contribution towards mental health and wellbeing.
Double Olympian Jack Green will be the VIP speaker at the awards night. Mr Green is Honorary Patron of South Kent Mind.
