Noah’s Ark inspired creative writing

Recently, the creative writing group were given a theme around the idea of Noah’s Ark, and Royston wrote a very imaginative and wonderful tale from this theme below.
The lioness clung to the side of the boat, claws scraping down the side of the woodwork, feed dipping in the wet, cold, water the calling of the hippo saying he was scared, and the croak of the frog treading water. Reindeer called out to Lioness and said, “are you scared pal?” Lioness said, “ask Monkey”, Monkey said, “I have a plan”.
Now this was no ordinary monkey, he was a problem-solving monkey with a high IQ who spoke in many animal languages. He said, “If we go hand in hand and blow into Elephant’s trunk and Elephant holds it in for as long as possible and we get him afloat in the water, we can put a paw on him and stay afloat.” And so, one by one, Man, Giraffe, Rhino, Seahorse, Gazelle, Polar Bear, Raccoon, Monkey, Koala, Hippo, Lioness, Reindeer and Tiger all took a gasp and blew into Elephant’s trunk and one by one slid down the capsizing boat and Elephant blocked his trunk and slid down and joined them in the water, they all put a paw on Elephant. Monkey said, “Paddle, I can see flying birds, land must be close”. The weather was warming up and the waves were carrying them so far from where they began on the sinking boat, until Monkey said “Land, I see land!”
The birds were circling what looked like a sandy desert island, the waves brought them ashore so fast, and they were foot deep in minutes. Once on the island, Man had said, “Look, fruit! We can live here for years.”
And so man made a home out of bushes and trees and wood and leaves and woman which had also been to raft said, “I am pregnant.” and the animals and man began to populate the island. Until one day man said, “I want to build a boat and leave this paradise.” But that’s another story.
