Fire walk will help those most in need

Supporters of a mental health charity will be walking over hot coals next month to raise vital funds for the organisation.
Folkestone-based South Kent Mind is staging a fundraising fire walk in the grounds of the Saga building in Sandgate High Street.
Simon Dolby, CEO of the charity, says he is hoping more members of the public will sign-up for the challenge.
He said: “Mental health really is a hot topic at present so I need readers to visit our website to sign-up to take part and help us support those in need. I am so grateful to Saga staff for making a donation to South Kent Mind enabling us to cover the costs of this event so every penny raised can go towards frontline services.”
Mr Dolby said that a participant raising £50 in sponsorship would pay for a one-to-one counselling session for a client, while £100 could pay for a mindfulness workshop for six people, and £250 could pay for a six-week Coping with Life course for a client suffering with anxiety and depression.
South Kent Mind has served the Folkestone and Hythe area for three decades but the demand on its services has never been greater. The fundraising event is being staged by UK Firewalk.
