Calling all writers! South Kent Mind are looking for volunteer journalists to write articles for their site.
What does the role entail?
Volunteers will be writing articles for the South Kent Mind website and/or local publications, which will be promoted via our social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
What will I be writing?
Articles could focus on people stories – both beneficiaries and staff – service delivery milestones, case studies, activities or even the Kent Mental Health and Wellbeing Awards (hosted by South Kent Mind).
Where will I be working?
This volunteering opportunity could be delivered remotely but the ideal candidate will live in Kent and have the ability to very occasionally attend one of our events to meet interviewees face-to-face.
Why volunteer as journalist for South Kent Mind?
Mental health is an extremely important topic. Discussion around mental health has soared since the beginning of the pandemic and we would like to raise these stories, reducing the stigma surrounding the subject.
Your articles could not only help someone to see that they are not alone in their mental health challenges, but possibly encourage them to get support.
As well as highlighting the importance of better mental health, you will be part of a growing team of friendly volunteers and will be able to add more experience to your CV and portfolio.
