New opportunity for the green-fingered among us! South Kent Mind are looking for gardening volunteers!

What does the role entail?

As a gardening volunteer you will be hosting and supporting regular gardening sessions at an allotment with people accessing our services. South Kent Mind are looking for someone to:

  • Engage and encourage
  • Introduce new skills
  • Organise and plan gardening sessions

What skills will I need?

  • Confident in leading sessions
  • A positive and engaging leader
  • A great communicator- friendly, chatty and professional
  • Passionate about mental health & South Kent Mind

Why become a gardening volunteer for South Kent Mind?

Becoming a volunteer is incredibly rewarding. You will be helping members with mental health challenges discover the wellbeing benefits of nature and the outdoors, encouraging them to learn new skills and work as a group. These sessions will also be a great opportunity for those who don’t usually have an outdoor space to meet others and find a new hobby.

Is the role growing on you?

To volunteer for this position please email: claire.burns@southkentmind.org.uk
