Ambassadors speak at safeguarding conference
South Kent Mind student ambassadors delivered a presentation to more than 600 delegates at Folkestone and Hythe’s annual community safety conference.
The mental health ambassadors from the Marsh Academy and Dover Christ Church Academy gave a young person perspective on measures needed to improve wellbeing and resilience, as well as their reflections on involvement with the charity’s project.
Marsh Academy students Sophie and Luca were selected to take the lead on the presentation, which was delivered at the climax to the conference.

The event was staged by Kent County Council and hosted by actor and Instagram personality Robbie White.
Organisations attending the event included: Shepway Youth Hub, School Health, Homestart, We Are With You, Mind and Body, Prevent, Kent Police Violence Reduction Unit and Folkestone and Hythe District Council.
Simon Dolby from South Kent Mind said: “This was a great experience for our Ambassadors and enabled them to talk about mental health resilience to a huge audience. Their presentation was a hit, as were the individual information pennants each Ambassador created to decorate the South Kent Mind stand.”
