We are an independent local charity affiliated to Mind, the national mental health charity. We are run by our own constitution and board of Trustees so that we can best support and represent our local community.
South Kent Mind was originally registered as a charity called Folkestone & District Mind in May 1988. In November 2019, we changed the name to South Kent Mind to ensure we better reflect the area we support.
We are dedicated to improving the lives of people with mental health challenges in South Kent.
We want to see that everyone with a mental health problem in South Kent has somewhere to turn for advice and support that is person-centered.
We are passionate in promoting the preservation and safeguarding of mental health, and the relief of persons suffering from mental health disorders.

South Kent Mind was awarded with the Mind Quality Mark (MQM) in November 2020. The MQM is a robust quality assurance framework created by national Mind and the award highlights local Mind charities that excel in their support and service delivery. To achieve the MQM, a local Mind must meet or exceed all 20 key standards.
South Kent Mind is proud to have been awarded the MQM and to have been recognised for the outstanding support provided to people in the South Kent area.
